I'll just be testing it out personally for a day or so before having it go live on the market. Those are not my actual weight values in case you were wondering.... :)
I plan to add more enhancements to this, such as long-pressing a particular entry and having the option to set it as the start of a new goal... with dynamic calculations for each row since then showing your progress towards that goal. (things like -1.5lbs -1% ) etc.
Right now, daily points are calculated based on the previous week's weighins. You may weigh in as many times as you like (once per day) during a week. But the last weighin for the week will be used as the weight value for the next week's calculations. If your point reset day is Tuesday, then Monday is the last day you can weigh in to affect the next week point calculations.
In order to use the automatic point recalculation, you must have at one point used the point allowance calculator built into the settings screen. Those values are needed when recalculating point allowances. I'll be adding visual reminders for all this stuff in the app once I'm satisfied that it's working right.
Also:
Please do not stand on your phone to weigh in... :)
I love this application. I use it everyday. Thanks so much for writing it and sharing it with us. Your new weight tracking form has an issue on the motorola droid. When you go to enter your new weight the day part of date overlays where you enter your weight when you hold the phone horizontally. Also is there a way to export the data? I was wanting to do some analysis on it.
ReplyDeleteAhh, I see you are right.
ReplyDeleteI'll put that in a scroll frame so it doesn't get cut off in landscape.
Is there a way to export the data?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations - this is just a fantastic application. I have been looking for an android app to track my WW journey and this is almost perfect!
ReplyDeleteJust wondering whether you have considered a metric option - weight recorded as Kilograms instead of pounds?
@Chuck: Right now, there is a database backup feature. If you get a program to open sqlite databases, you can peek inside. I know some people want export, but it's behind a few other features on my list.
ReplyDelete@Gary: Thanks! I've considered metric. I have a very helpful user in Spain I'd like to support better. I'll be doing more locale stuff around April when they finalize and release their new WW plan.
Is there a point finder with this app?
ReplyDeleteThere's a point calculator but no point finder.
ReplyDeleteI may integrate one at a later time if I can find a food lookup service that won't cost me money to use.
How do I access the point calculater
ReplyDeleteWhen you enter food, you can fill in the points value or click the calculator button.
ReplyDeleteWhen I entered my new weight yesterday it did not change points to 25 like it said it did.
ReplyDeleteGreat app. I'm seeing my activity its max out at 28 for the week. Is it supposed to do that?
ReplyDelete@Crystal: The weight you enter will go into effect after your next weekly points reset. Ideally you would weigh in the day before your reset day.
ReplyDelete@Anon: Right now I have a cap on activity points of 28. The literature I can find on the subject is confusing... I will probably remove the 28 cap and let it be whatever you want, but that change hasn't been put in yet. I still have it on my list.
I am loving your app but want to get the mosT out of it.how do you set a weight goal and Do you need to set a new weight goal each week. Why would the points allocated for each day be greater than the points offered the previous week?
ReplyDeleteThese are questions better asked on the forum, it's easier to respond. You can set a weight start goal. After that, all weight entries will show the amount gained or lost since the goal start. When you reach your goal end, whatever that is, you can set a new goal start.
ReplyDeleteWhy would the points allocated per day for one week be greater than a previous week?
ReplyDeleteThis can happen if you've gained weight.
ReplyDeleteThe calculation for available points is based off a few things including current weight divded by ten. If you weigh 210, then you start with a base of 21 points that height, sex, and activity influence. If you weigh 215, you still have a base of 21, but if you weigh 220, you have a base of 22.
Is "goal start“ the weight you hope to achieve?
ReplyDeleteno it's the weight you are when you start your goal. the weight you want the app to compare your current weight to when it tells you how much you've lost.
ReplyDeleteIs there a place to input the weight you are shooting for.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your help.
Not at the moment
ReplyDeleteIs there a way to use the app to track the progress of two different people
ReplyDeleteNo but I've gotten a few requests for something like that and plan on working something out in the future
