wwdiary - version 3.4.7 posted to Android Market

Thanks Gregg for reporting the force close when editing a point entry!

This update should fix that.   If anyone encounters any more force closes, please email me or post here or in the forum.  If the app generates an error report, please send it so that I can track down the problem.    Thanks!

  1. Thanks for the awesome program! One thing of note - the daily count of water, veggies and dairy is now gone on my screen! Is there a way to bring it back? I liked knowing at a glance if I need some more water or another veggie.

  2. Those don't show in landscape mode right now. Still trying to figure out where to put them without taking up too much space. Do you not see them in portrait orientation?

  3. I'm not sure if this I'd known bug or not. I updated my weight and it recalculated my points buy it didn't update my daily points.

  4. Daily point changes due to weight loss will not take effect until your next weekly point reset. Your daily point allowance is calculated based on "last weeks" weight.

  5. I love your app but have a couple of questions. 1. I accidentally set the wrong weight as my goal. Do I just entree a new one to fix it? 2. How can I use or enter JUST the 35 extra points?

  6. Just longpress on a new one and set that one as your goal. You can also longpress on an entry in the weight log to edit or delete it.

The 35 weekly points are only used if you go over your points for any one day. You can choose in the app to have it pull from your activity points or weekly points first when going over.

  7. Is there a way to set the daily points to zero and only use the extras and activity points?

  8. I see them in portrait, not in landscape. I'm also getting force closes everytime I delete a text message, dial phone numbers, open other apps, etc. There's no error message and the program reopens.

  9. @Bruce: No. Is there a WW plan where that is documented?

@Ellie: You're getting WWDiary force closes while in another program? or is something else on your phone causing problems?

  10. I haven't changed anything on my phone but updated WWDiary. I'm getting force closes while using other apps, and even once tonight while using the app. I'm not sure what's going on.

  11. So you're actually getting a force close and not an error report?

There are catches almost everywhere around my program to catch the force closes and send an email error report. If you are getting force closes while using wwdiary (and not an error report) it might be some other app/service on your phone crashing.

  12. With regard to your question about no point valuse, here is the documentation straight from the Weight Watchers website:
How to Follow the Momentum™ Plan:
    Online Core Plan® Followers

In recent years, Weight Watchers discovered that tracking food was not a fit for all people and, in response, created the Core Plan. For those users who did not want to track, it offered a way to follow the plan and achieve weight-loss success by focusing food choices on particularly filling foods and body awareness. With the Momentum plan, the Core Plan no longer exists.

The Weight Watchers Momentum plan urges users to build awareness through tracking, as it has been found that awareness breeds accountability and accountability breeds success. The fact remains, though, that tracking simply is not for everyone, and Weight Watchers recognizes that the weight-loss process is not “one size fits all.” In order to encourage those who loved the principles of the Core Plan and those who may come to discover that tracking is not for them, the Momentum plan offers the Simply Filling technique.

The Simply Filling technique encourages members to choose Filling Foods and follow hunger signals to lose weight, rather than tracking POINTS® values. The strategy requires that you focus your food choices on the Filling Foods exclusively for an entire week, while listening carefully to your body’s hunger signals and using your weekly POINTS Allowance to add variety.

When following the Simply Filling technique, the main focus should be to choose Filling Foods almost exclusively throughout the day. To make the Filling Foods easy to identify, you will see they are marked with a green diamond in the Plan Manager. Filling Foods are either rich protein sources, or high in water or fiber. They range from fruits and vegetables to fat-free milk products, whole-grain cereals to lean meats. When eaten, they fill your stomach, making you feel fuller with fewer calories.

Choosing Filling Foods is only the beginning. Tracking is a technique that was developed to build awareness. Without that tool in place, you must learn to pay attention to your body’s hunger signals to determine portion sizes. Aim to feel satisfied throughout the day — never hungry, never too full. Take time to check in with yourself every couple of hours. Ask yourself how you are feeling and try to stay ahead of hunger by using the Plan Manager hunger tracking tools.

  13. Try this:
Go to preferences and turn off auto update points. Then set your daily point allowance to 0. It should pull from your weekly points.

  14. I have done that. Discovered it as a work-around. A nice feature would be what to be able pull from your extra points at will as opposed to having to complete all daily points first. The thinking is that those extra 35 are there at your disposal for when you need them; not just after the daily pints are used.

  15. Can you drop a line over at the forum's request thread?

Also, can you describe how you think it should work and look? (Picking from weekly points at will)

  16. I was reading through the thread and saw someone entered their goal weight. I haven't found that option in the app. Did I overlook something? It's a fabulous app, by the way! God bless you for your efforts and for your generousity in keeping it free for everyone.

  17. It's actually a bit backwards from that.

You can long press on a weight value to set the start of the goal. When you do that, every weight you log after that will show you the change since the start of the goal. once you reach your goal, you can long press on it and set it as the start of a new goal.
